A project focused on sports
The Academos Site in Verny opened in June 2021. This ambitious project, designed and supported by the Department of Moselle (Moselle County Council), involved the rehabilitation of the former Regional Adapted Learning Centre (EREA). The campus has 11 acres of land and 11,000 sq. metres of buildings which are now dedicated to sports, thanks to its wide range of sports equipment for elite athletes, as well as the presence of the Directorate of Sports and Youth (Direction du Sport et de la Jeunesse (DSJ) and the Sports Committees Centre. The site is also dedicated to training courses and has several meeting rooms.
A prime location
The Department of Moselle is located at the crossroads of the main European routes and benefits from its proximity to the Luxembourgish, Belgian and German borders. The site is accessible via Luxembourg airport, Saarbrucken airport or the Lorraine TGV Highspeed Train station. The TGV Highspeed rail link means that Metz-City Train station is only 1 hr and 20 mins from Paris. Académos is only 20 minutes away from the nearest hospital.
